What Is Being Tracked
Data Center Projects
Track proposed, approved, withdrawn, and other documented large-scale data center developments across Florida. Research includes project locations, developers, reported electrical capacity, and development status. The project tracker focuses on developments with a reported capacity of at least 50 MW.
Local Regulations
Monitor how Florida counties and municipalities respond to data center development through zoning ordinances, moratoriums, land-use restrictions, and other regulatory measures, including proposed and adopted actions.
PSC Filings & Utilities
Examine Florida Public Service Commission filings, utility tariffs, infrastructure cost responsibility, financial security requirements, and potential financial risks to utility ratepayers.
Hearings & Decisions
Follow public hearings, local government votes, regulatory proceedings, and relevant court developments. Track scheduled actions, documented outcomes, and decisions that remain pending or require further verification.
Research Methodology & Data Disclaimer
Florida Data Center Watch is an independent research initiative maintained by Meridian Group Strategies.
Information is compiled from publicly available sources, including local government records, planning and zoning documents, regulatory filings, public meeting materials, and court records where applicable.
How Information Is Classified
Projects and regulatory actions are categorized according to their documented status at the time of review. Proposed developments, preliminary authorizations, adopted regulations, and final government decisions are distinguished wherever supporting information is available.
Reported electrical capacity, infrastructure requirements, and other project characteristics may reflect developer statements, preliminary applications, or publicly disclosed estimates. These figures do not necessarily represent approved construction or operational capacity.
Updates and Verification
The dashboard is updated as new information becomes available and records are reviewed. Some developments may remain under investigation or require additional verification.
A missing date, incomplete record, or pending status should not be interpreted as confirmation that an action has or has not occurred.
Public Information Notice
Florida Data Center Watch is provided for informational and public policy research purposes. It is not an official government database. Users should consult the relevant government agency or original public record when making legal, financial, regulatory, or development-related decisions.
